An online portal to address the social determinants of health
The Desert Healthcare Foundation is a local government body dedicated to improving health for residents in the Coachella Valley region of California. They worked with Purple Binder to launch cvHIP, an online resource directory covering everything from healthcare, to social services, to hiking trails. All of the services in cvHIP help residents address all of the factors that affect their health in the communities where they work, live, and play.
Community services in residents’ own languages
Through the cvHIP site, Coachella Valley residents can access to comprehensive information about all of the recreational, social, and health-related services available in their community. Accessible from any computer, tablet, or phone, the portal uses mobile features like geolocation to help users find services near them. The portal uses translation services to provide content in several languages.
Purple Binder manages the portal on an ongoing basis.
